Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries during the year 1966, after he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to lower and raise the hoist. This device greatly impressed clients and thus, the name was established.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, because the need for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, when the demand for new equipment to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into making light towers, man-lifts, articulated booms, telehandlers and stick booms.
Due to the economic downturn during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who held the same values. They partnered up with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring equipment manufacturers throughout the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the initial few years following the sale. Therefore, all Genie machines continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving efficiency and quality and is also committed to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines that have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machinery.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy machines are emission-free, quiet machines capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the equipment has to be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator along with the advantages of a 48V DC machinery.
As opposed to any of the different kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms offer more horizontal reach overall. These equipment are ideal for limited access areas in construction and other industrial settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to offer utmost productivity. These machinery deliver supreme traction and the drive speed you need in order to travel around the work site and job area.
