OSHA requires that every tank should be marked by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors in order to be considered safe and ready to use.
Tank Modifications and Repairs
OSHA also regulates any type of repairs to the LP systems, like welding. The personnel performing repairs and the tank owners should understand the standards and regulatory codes which the tanks were made. Welding repairs to any part of the system that is subject to internal pressure must first follow these fabrication codes. Any other type of welding is only permitted on brakctes, saddle plates or lugs.
