Jungheinrich Narrow Aisle Forklifts United States

The following add-ons are useful for narrow aisle lift trucks:
Side shift: The side shift option allows the movement of the load laterally without having to move the truck. This allows loads to be positioned with much more precision.

Tilt mast: The tilt mast option allows the forks to shift backwards and forwards. This is recommended in situations where loads aren't entirely level. To be able to gain more stability while moving a loaded truck, the mast can be tilted back.

Extendable forks: Extendable forks help the reach of a lift truck to allow for the stacking of pallets one in front of the other. This is called double deep loading.

Operator platforms: Operator platforms enable some NA forklifts to lower and raise the operator while the forks are being raised or lowered. This offers optimum control and visibility when handling loads at heights of 6 to 9 meters.

Lift Truck on a Ramp
Forklift operators should be well taught on the machinery. They should be tested and licensed or certified. It is important for anyone using a lift truck to be very educated regarding safety problems and rules. Drivers should understand how to make adjustments on uneven surfaces or in cases where the weight of the load alters the center of gravity. Safety guidelines cover safely using a forklift on a ramp, which is a frequent happening as the driver would typically have to drive down and up ramps in order to unload and load containers.

Guidelines for Operating a Forklift on a Ramp
1 Drive slowly while approaching a ramp and when driving up and down the ramp. The risk of mishaps is increased when driving fast since this could upset the machine's center of gravity.
2 While not carrying a load, drive the forklift in reverse when moving up an incline on a ramp.
3 Drive forward while moving down an incline on the ramp with no load.
4 Tilt the forks slightly back to shift the center of the load to the machine's front, while moving up or down a ramp while carrying a load.
5 Drive forward up a ramp while carrying a load in order to make the load more steady.
