Jungheinrich LP Forklift United States

The forklift is an important piece of machinery in most companies that operate distribution centers, warehouses, industrial and storage handling plants. This great machinery, the lift truck is constructed of many parts, such as the important carriage, the power source, the engine and the wheels. Forklifts generally have a range of attachments as well. The following are a few of the most essential lift truck parts.

Engine of the Forklift - At the rear of the machine, the forklift has its power source. The various kinds of engine on the forklift would need varying power sources. Like for example, a forklift with an internal combustion engine can have as its power source any of the following: CNG gas, LP gas, gasoline or diesel. Electric motor forklifts receive their power from a battery or fuel cells.

Frame of The Truck - the base of the forklift truck and the most vital of all the forklift parts is the frame of the truck. This forms the core of the machinery. All other forklift components are attached to the base, like for instance the counterweight, overhead guard, mast, wheels and axles. Hydraulic fluid and fuel tanks could be part of the frame assembly as well.

Counterweight Lift Truck Parts - the counterweight is what enables the machinery to be balanced while carrying heavy cargo. This part is made of heavy cast iron and is connected to the rear-end of the lift truck. The counterbalance balances the frame of the truck to prevent it from tipping over when a load is being carried or lifted on the front. In an electric lift truck, the heavy lead-acid battery gives balance and can function as part of the counterweight.

The Cab Area - The cab is also known as the operator compartment. Forklifts will sometimes have closed cabs whilst others will be open to the air. There are really lots of components located within the cab for operating the forks. The cab contains such important parts like for instance the steering wheel, operator controls, seats, pedals, switches and levers. The dashboard contains operator readouts.
